Mode of Delivery and Teaching Methods:

  • Courses are delivered through face-to-face classroom instruction, incorporating lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and project-based learning. Blended learning will only be adopted under exceptional circumstances, such as public health or other unforeseen situations, where face-to-face delivery is not feasible.
  • Detailed information on the manner in which each course is taught is provided in GSTM’s Course Specification and is communicated to students during orientation and at the commencement of the course. Relevant information is also available on GSTM’s website.



Eligibility

Academic Requirement: 
  • Obtained at least 2 GCE A-Level passes including Mathematics and *English; OR
  • Obtained International Baccalaureate Diploma (at least 24 points) or other equivalent pre-university certifications; OR
  • Completion of GSTM Diploma (Specialized in Hospitality and Tourism Management) or GSTM (Specialized in Event Management) or GSTM Diploma (Specialized in Events, Hospitality and Tourism Management) or  GSTM Diploma (Specialized in Building Surveying-Facilities) or equivalent; OR
  • NUS High School Diploma; OR
  • Polytechnic Diploma (e.g. Diploma in Accounting/ Business/ Management/ IT/ Computing/ Hospitality/ Psychology); OR
  • Other recognised PEI qualification in a related discipline that is assessed to be comparable in standard to a Polytechnic Diploma or IB Diploma; OR
  • Matured student:  At least 30 years old with at least 8 years of relevant working experiences will be considered.

 English Language Requirement: 

  • *A pass in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or IELTS 5.5 and or equivalent; OR 
  • Completed a prior Diploma or equivalent where the medium of instruction is English

Academic Pathway

  • Advanced Diploma in Event Management OR 
  • Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management; OR
  • Higher Diploma in Event Management OR
  • Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management 



Course Commencement Date and End date

Courses are offered with multiple intakes throughout the year. Commencement dates are scheduled regularly and made available prior to enrolment.

Employability

 Graduate of this Specialist Diploma may progress to a higher-level qualification in the field of Events and Hospitality and Tourism management.  The graduates also may pursue a career in the Event and Hospitality sectors in Singapore and overseas. E.g. Assistant Event Planner/ Organiser, Hotel Receptionist, Front Office Attendant, Guest Services Associate, Meeting and Convention Coordinator.
