The course is focused on the latest development in the hospitality and tourism industry. It helps the students to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in various aspects of hospitality and tourism management for those who wish to pursue or further advance their careers in this industry.  Students may be selected to undergo on-the-job training of 6 months in an established event or hospitality or tourism establishment in Singapore. Failing which, students will prepare and submit an industry project within 2 months.

Mode of Delivery and Teaching Methods:
  • Courses are delivered through face-to-face classroom instruction, incorporating lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and project-based learning. Blended learning will only be adopted under exceptional circumstances, such as public health or other unforeseen situations, where face-to-face delivery is not feasible.
  • Detailed information on the manner in which each course is taught is provided in GSTM’s Course Specification and is communicated to students during orientation and at the commencement of the course. Relevant information is also available on GSTM’s website.




Eligibility

 Academic Requirement: 
  • Completion of GSTM Specialist Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management or Specialist Diploma in Event Management or equivalent; OR
  • Polytechnic Diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Diploma in Accounting/ Business/ Management/ Hospitality); OR
  • Other recognised PEI qualification in a related discipline that is assessed to be comparable in standard to a GSTM Specialist Diploma (EDP-Year 1 equivalent). For such EDP-Year 1 equivalence, the minimum entry requirement consists of GCE A-level qualifications or a recognised PEI Diploma pathway; OR
  • Matured student:  At least 30 years old with at least 8 years of relevant working experiences will be considered.

 

English Language Requirement: 

  • *A pass in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or IELTS 5.5 and or equivalent; OR 
  • Completed a prior Diploma or equivalent where the medium of instruction is English

  • Weekday -  7.00 pm to 10.00 pm  OR  
  • Weekend -  9.00 am to 12 noon OR  1.00 pm to  4.00 pm OR 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm

Academic Pathway

Graduate who wish to further their studies in this field may apply for  relevant programme/course offered by other institutions or universities.  Admission is subjected to these institutions or universities entry requirement the point of application. 



Course Commencement Date and End date

Courses are offered with multiple intakes throughout the year. Commencement dates are scheduled regularly and made available prior to enrolment.

The course duration and expected end date are specified in the course information and confirmed upon enrolment.

Employability

Graduate of this Advanced Diploma may progress to a higher-level qualification in the field of Hospitality and Tourism management.  The graduates also may pursue a career in the Hospitality and Tourism sectors in Singapore and overseas. E.g. Front Office Attendant, Back Office Assistant, Hotel Receptionist, Guest Services Associate, Meeting and Convention Planner etc.
