Introduction

The course aims to provide students with a solid foundation and analytical problem-solving apporach in diffrent aspectes of  Computing and Information Technology. It helps students acquire knowledge and skills up to professional level, strengthening their understanding of computing and information technology.  Industrial attachment is an integral part of students’ educational development of this course. It is providing opportunities for students to gain a real-world understanding of the complexities and demands of the industry and their career prospects.  Through a 6-month internship in an organisation, students will gain valuable work experience to enhance their professional prospects further and applying thinking relating tothe complexities and unclear problems to develop innovative solutions in the IT and Computing industry.

Eligibility

 Academic Requirement: 

• Completion of GSTM Specialist Diploma in Computing and Information Technology or equivalent; OR
• Polytechnic Diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Computing/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field); OR
• Other PEI qualification (e.g. Diploma in Computing/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field is equivalent to GSTM’s Specialist Diploma) will be assessed on a case by case basis; OR
• Matured student:  At least 30 years old with at least 8 years of relevant working experiences will be considered.

 

English Language Requirement: 

• A pass in English at GCE’ O’ Level or IELTS 5.5 and or equivalent; OR 
• Completed a prior Diploma or equivalent where the medium of instruction is English

Academic Pathway

Graduate who wish to further their studies in this field may apply for relevant programme/ course offered by other institutions or universities. Admission is subjected to these institutions  or universities entry requirement the point of application. 

Employability

Graduates of this Advanced Diploma will be equipped with the  solid foundation in  Computing and Information Technology which enable them able to pursue a career in the Computing and Information Technology world (e.g. Database Administrator, System/Network Executive,  System Analyst, Application Developers, Project Executive (IT),   IT  Project Management  and Local and International ICT firms) or  to progress in the current areas or additional knowledge to excel in the workplace.
