Mode of Delivery and Teaching Methods:
  • Courses are delivered through face-to-face classroom instruction, incorporating lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and project-based learning. Blended learning will only be adopted under exceptional circumstances, such as public health or other unforeseen situations, where face-to-face delivery is not feasible.
  • Detailed information on the manner in which each course is taught is provided in GSTM’s Course Specification and is communicated to students during orientation and at the commencement of the course. Relevant information is also available on GSTM’s website.






Eligibility

Academic Requirement:
  • Completion of GSTM Specialist Diploma in Quantity Surveying; OR
  • Polytechnic Diploma in Construction and Built Environment Industry; OR
  • Other recognised PEI qualification in a related discipline (e.g. Construction Management/ Quantity Surveying/ Civil Engineering) that is assessed to be comparable in standard to a GSTM Specialist Diploma (EDP-Year 1 equivalent). For such EDP-Year 1 equivalence, the minimum entry requirement consists of GCE A-level qualifications or a recognised PEI Diploma pathway; OR
  • Matured students: At least 30 years old with at least 8 years relevant working experiences will be considered.

English Language Requirement: 

  •  *A pass in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or IELTS 5.5 and or equivalent; OR 
  • Completed a prior Diploma or equivalent where the medium of instruction is English

 Duration: 
  • Full Time:  8 months Institutional Learning and 6 months Industry Attachment (weekday)
  • Part Time: 10 months Institutional Learning and 6 months Industry Attachment (evening weekday / weekend)

Class Mode: 

  • Full Time: 
    • Weekday  - 9:00 am to 12:00pm OR 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Part Time:
    • Weekday -  7.00 pm to 10.00 pm  OR 
    • Weekend - 10.00 am to 5.00 pm  /  2:00pm to 5:00pm / 6.00 pm to 9:00 pm
Course Commencement Date and End date
 
Courses are offered with multiple intakes throughout the year. Commencement dates are scheduled regularly and made available prior to enrolment.

The course duration and expected end date are specified in the course information and confirmed upon enrolment.

Licensing of Builders

  • Students need to have at least 5 years (in aggregate) of practical experience in the execution of construction projects (whether in Singapore or elsewhere) after attaining the above mentioned program in order to apply to BCA as a General Builder GB Class 2 Technical Controller.

Graduate who wish to further their studies in this field may apply for  relevant programme/course offered by other institutions or universities.  Admission is subjected to these institutions or universities entry requirement the point of application.

Graduates of this Advanced Diploma will enable them able to pursue careers within the respective Industries. E.g. Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Cost Controller, Project Coordinator in Building Information Modeling, Site Supervisor, Project Manager
